HOSTAGE - Week #4 - ANGER

Scripture:

A.  YOU MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANGER IF:

1. You DAMAGE property and or people.
2. You have difficulty ACCEPTING RULES, or a “no” answer.
3. You are UNABLE to control your tongue.
4. You find that you’re ALWAYS irritable or overly sensitive.

B. TWO WRONG WAYS TO DEAL WITH ANGER:

1. SPEWERS Proverbs 29:11
2. STEWERS Psalms 32:3

C.  THREE STEPS TO DEAL WITH ANGER:

1. RED light
2. YELLOW light
3. GREEN light Mark 3:5

D.  TAKING IT HOME

1. What are you angry about? 
2. Are you a “Spewer” or a “Stewer?”  What steps can you take today to find a balance between venting fully, and keeping silent?  (Ephesians 4:6-7, Proverbs 29:11, Psalms 32:3)
3. What in this world is making you angry that you think you can turn your anger around to make a difference and bring healing? (example – poverty, homelessness, human trafficking).  What can you do this week to begin to make a difference?
